Since we know nothing and you apparently know everything because you have pointed out big blocks are faster than ls1's and jet cars but not rocket cars why dont you enlighten us instead of leading us on?
DOT slicks are NOT street legal in all states (like Texas) also most safety harnesses are not street legal either. i feel sure there are other legal issues with the car but my point is its almost impossible to have a street legal moded car. btw that IS a street car! i wonder what mpg he gets, thats why id roll the dmax stang 35mpg![]()

I never claimed to know all about drag racing. I do know the difference in a rocket and a jet engine. I just don't live and breath drag racing like you do. You really should look up that C Lo Green song on youtube. Funny song.
You might also consider not being such a big block douche. No one cares. Remember this is not Big block truck forums.

Some on here are so single minded they refuse to believe there is anything else out there besides the "LS".
I like the LS motors, but I also understand it's not all there is.
DOT (DOT = Department of Transportation) slicks are legal here. It's not impossible to have a modded street legal car. Several years back I ran a quick street car with the same tires he's running. I never had a problem getting an inspection sticker for it. I could take it anywhere to get the inspection. They couldn't find anything wrong with it, although I did have to fix the tag light one year. All you need is an old car, then it's easy.
That's the funny thing. I don't follow drag racing anymore, haven't for years. I couldn't even tell you who the front runners are now. But there are a lot of know it alls here who seem to know very little, it doesn't keep them from being obnoxious with the little juvenile insults. All I have to do is mention something good about a non LS car and the wonderful folks here start saying mean things. Funny stuff. Grow up.
I didn't start this thread, but the fact that it's about a quick big block car has got some of you so upset you need to go breathe in a bag.
that car wont pass a proper inspection, altered suspension, non factory size tires, modified exhaust and cage. are just to name a few errors on that car that wont pass proper inspection. Most inspection shops dont go by the Tee However a DOT cop will write him/her tickets for everything and have that car impounded.
with what is listed above there isnt many if any vehicles on this site that would pass a proper inspection

I guess it depends where you live. Around here a tubbed and caged car on the street is not a problem. If you have a car from the 60s or older you can do pretty much anything you want to it as long as the basic safety equipment that it came with is still there.
For instance, if the car is so old that it only came with one tail light....you only have to have one tail light. As long as you have the working lights the old car came with and such, you can run a blown alcohol motor on the street and it's legal.
The car this thread is about is from Missouri. I use to go to the Street Machine Fall Nationals in Springfield, MO every year. There are a lot of tubbed and caged cars with superchargers sticking out of the hood on the street in Missouri. So it must not be a problem there. I got pulled over in MO. driving a tubbed caged car with DOT slicks, Lexan windows, the whole bit. I got a ticket for speeding, and that's all. No equipment violation.
I know of a 8 sec blown alky SBC Camaro that racked up a lot of street miles in MO. He drove it all over the place on a regular basis without a problem from the cops.
it does vary between states. the cage is a safety violation since in an accident it will do you more harm then good as they see it. since to be legal you need to drive with a helmet on to protect you in a crash. But then using a helmet is against the law cause it obstructs your vision in a car/truck.
local DOT cop here pulled over a SRT8 jeep cause it was lowered[stock height] with 20s on it. rather or not it stuck im not sure but he was out with a tape measure measuring ground to bumper height.
to say this car is a street car is all in who says its what. Any car can have stickers slapped on it, if the car does drive XXXXX amount of miles a year or week, was working lights and etc ppl call it a street car. thats a drag car thats capable of street activites. A true street vehicle is well rounded and not just directed towards one thing.
