    2008 6.0 vortec max shortblock /w heads

hey all, this is more of a feeler thread more than anything.

the situation is my buddy has a 2008 6.0 with 17k miles out of his ECSB vortec max sierra. the motor is in great shape, its essentially a shortblock with the l76 heads still bolted on. It was pulled at a dealership because a piece of the block that holds the starter on was snapped off. The dealership told him his mail order tune caused a kickback on startup which in turn snapped a small piece off where the starter bolt is held in so in turn the starter would only be held in with 1 bolt unless it is welded. i would think it is fixable but his insurance covered a brand new crate motor and the install so he has the motor sitting around and needs it gone. anyone have any interest or an idea what this would be worth?

oh an get this the dealership installed a brand new crate motor with the tune still in the truck and when they started it it did the same exact thing! to a 0 mile crate 6.0. very sad...

let me know your thoughts. im working on getting some pictures and such but wanted to see how much he/i should be asking for it. thanks guys.

Is the motor the Ly6 iron block or the L76 aluminum block? I bought a 2002 lq4 short block with the same piece broken for 100 bucks just 4 parts in Mcallen Tx.
