HAVE YOU READ ALL THE STICKIES? lol why would you want to switch from a 5.3 to a 5.7? Aside from it being aluminum, there is no real advantage. The power potential is pretty much the same and its slightly easier to reach higher comp ratios with a 5.3.

Actually the 5.7 for some reason blows the 5.3 out of the water. There are stock shortblock 5.7s making as much as 480rwhp and i have yet to see a 5.3 that actually made 400rwhp. Alot more potential with a 5.7.

I 100% agree. BUT, lol...Would it not be more practical(if you could call it that), to use the money he's going to spend on a 5.7 swap, and put it into heads, cam, headers, etc., etc., on his 5.3, thats already in his truck? Don't get me wrong, I went with the 5.7 myself, but I was replacing a V-6. I'm just sayin'...?

Dang, I knew I shoulda kept that Firebird 5.7. Ahh well, ya win some, ya lose some. I'd swap in the 5.7, also. IMO.
