    cam is a patrick g 226/230 .598/.600 112
    243 stock heads w\manley springs
    tsp pushrods
    42 lb marine injectors
    LS2 timing chain set
    and if i can swing it updated tune from nelson WITH HPT.
    heads are not ported and polished.. out of my budget for now

    whats the difference between the ls2 and truck timing chains?

    LS2 chain is the heavy duty chain...its just a heavier duty single chain that works with the truck timing gears.

    sounds like it should be good setup! im builing and 04 SS lq9 motor at the moment for the RST, definietly going with a set of 243's, 23x duration cam, NNBS intake manifold with 90mm tb and dr.x harness. & full boltons, should be fun, make sure you grab some pics and vids when you get it buttoned up.

    are you doing this to a 5.3, if so you should at least mill them to keep your compression ratio up

    if im not mistaken some year models came with the ls2 chain? i just did my cam swap and left the chain and oil pump alone. the chain was still tight and looked exactly like the ls2 chain we had on hand.
