Speedometer acting funky on '04 Z71

Been this way for a few months. At first it started as every once in a while the speedo would read about 10 miles too slow when driving. Now I can be going 70 mph and it'll only indicate me going about 10 mph. These days it rarely works. Is this a sensor somewhere that's easy to replace, or is my gauge cluster fubar? The truck has 143k on it.

I know the cluster is very easy to get out, but how hard is the motor to replace?
