It is probably because the 4.3L uses a cruise contol module and the V8 doesn't. The wires are in different positions in the electrical center. I can check out the diagrams once I get home after this weekend if you don't find them before then.

Yes please do. Thanks. I'll see what I can find out to.

Make sure at the TAC module you are getting:
C1 - 6 : Hot with brake
C1- 14 : Hot with key in run, cruise switch ON
C1- 4 : Hot with key in run, SET/COAST switch pressed
C1- 5 : Hot with key in run, ACCEL/RESUME switch pressed.
If not let me know which ones you are missing and we will track them down

The fuel gauge problem is due to this:
The LU3 (4.3L), L59 and LB7 use Full= 25 ohm Empty = 40 ohm
All other engines use Full= 40ohm, Empty = 25 ohm
You have 2 options:
1. Change the sending unit out for the correct one.
2. Reverse the table in the tune. (easiest option by far if you have a way to tune)
I confirmed this by looking at a L59 and LM7 tune. The fuel level tables are inverse of each other.
