NoTX that is the old one. The new one is in the link that red posted. So Allen do you know if this thing is going to be intercooler? Does anyone ahve the link to the thread with the pics? If it isnt intercooler how would I go about pushing say 20#s of boost on my 418 since it is going to heat up with those boost levels would meth be enough? I was going to lift my truck on 40s this summer but this setup is just too tempting to not get if it is reasonable. Allen do you have any $ #s on this new charger?

Here are some links to whats going on in the Whipple world this is all I have been able to dig up on the new charger still ahvent gotten an answer from Whipple or if its intercoled.

the last one talks about why Whipple is now building a charger of their own design.

Whipple updated their site since the last post. The charger has a 3" intercooler under it, so that should help quite a bit. Meth will be needed with 20psi, I'm sure.
Not sure on the price, I would guess around 5K$$.
I'm definitely considering this as my next power adder.

    thanks,

Hell ya, hopfully I'll have some experience with this charger before you come down.
I don't think you're going to be disappointed with your current results, that truck should move nicely. Probably in the 12's, all motor.

We'll need to SD tune it.

    come on down,

Allen the way I read that it looks like I will have to rig up my own heat exchanger and pump for the IC correct? Looks like I will have to rig up my own intake tube too. Im going to be in the Austin area when Im ready to do this any recommendtions for a place that can TIG me a nice intake tube? I could make it but I aint worth a shit at TIG welding. How much do you think my 418 could handle boost wise and still live a healthy life it ahs the plasma moly rings for boost and nitrous and everything is forged and arp main studs and arp head bolts so how much in your opinion can it take with you tuning it correctly of course?

It just so happens I'm getting a nice TIG tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be ready for the welding, I'll have plenty of practice on mine.

Ya, you can use a nice pump, some good hose and a few AN fittings and you're done with the plumbing.

What kind of compression does that engine have? I'd say 10psi on a built high compression engine would last all day.

    later,

Can you run alcohol or methanol in the intercooler instead of water since it's cooler?

Allen when I put the Whipple on Im goin to put a set of 6L heads on it to drop the CR down to 9:1 or so, so that will allow me to run more boost. If I have to Ill rebuild the short block with dished pistons later on if I blow it or dont get the right results. I have been through this truck so much a motor swap doesnt seem so bad Wonder if thats a bad thing or Im jsut delusional I would also do a cam swap for FI since mine is going to be more of a NA motor with the cam that Im dropping in there. Right now it is a 10.7:1 motor with 64cc heads I would be going to 74 cc heads since the 6L 72 stock and the combustino chambers will be cleaned and enlarged as far as they will go to get it down as much as possible.

Bad Apple yeah its going to run pretty good on motor and with the nitrous but I know Im not going to be happy with that nitrous is a PITA and a patch for power IMO so Im going to go FI in the summer if I work enough OT. The blower is going to be about 6K with the 90mm intake Ill have to wait on the 10 rib setup and then the intake shit will probably be another 500 or so then a cam will be close to 300 and the haeads are going to be 1400 or so with my hook up so it is going to be expensive. Plus it looks like I may ahve to notch the wiper cowlo and get a cowl hood to tuck it under there.
