    Crane Cam 216/224

Alright Hopefully I posted the charts correctly. This is the kind of evidence people like to see when they're trying to figure out what they want to use to get some power. Otherwise you can take the claimed "25 whp" and cut it in half and that's what you might have. So I've posted these charts to show you what you'll gett out of this Crane Cam..

    Crane Part # 1449561 216/224 .551 lift 115 lsa
Other mods include CAI, Edlebrock Shorties, h pipe with Dynomax Bullets, and MTI Racing tune.

First time posting pics soif they show up they might not be in proper order..
Dyno from 2007 was done at Summit Racing in GA by Dynomax Performance.
Dyno'd at MTI Racing 7/22/2010 38hp increase and 20 tq increase 265 hp and 283 tq

O sorry my bad 5.3 186,000 or so miles. No other internals, Shorty headers are the only other thing that went on with the cam.

Not firmiliar with the sotp acronym... But it sounds great nice little lope to it, has smoothed out a bit with the tune. I think i'm going to ask if they can lower the idle a little bit to bring it back, plus it jerks a little when I put it in drive when it's cold. Idling around 850, want it down around 6 where it's always been. Either way you can tell it's there and even more when you put your foot down, has a nice ring. Different tone then a stocker. Drives great on the street, awesome acceleration on the highway. Kinda has a surge in power from a stop when it hits 3000 rpm you can feel it start pulling harder throughout the range. I would recommend it, yea it doesn't produce awe inspiring numbers but for me it hit the spot. Tq is your friend and good steady torque she has... Plus I hear it's a good cam for a supercharger which is the direction I'm headin one of these days.

pm me with a # and I can send audio/video with my phone. I don't have a card to get it from my phone to the comp because the micro port is trashed. Or go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnvkKxCXjVM But this guy has no cat's so you know how sound goes when you remove those. Wish I could but I can't darn emissions... Either way this guy has the same cam.

Here's a parts list and the pricing I paid. If anyone else needs it. Don't forget if your not takin the heads off you'll need an in car spring compressor I like the dual valve tool about $120 at Vinci. Also the Crane valve locks were on back order last time I checked you can have your supplier cross ref them with Comp Cams which tend to be more readily available.

    Parts from Summit Racing
    -Crane Valve Springs crn-144832 $160
    -Crane Steel Retainers crn-144944 $66
    -Trick Flow Push Rods 7.4 tfs-21407400 $87
    -Crane Valve Locks CRN-99107 $33

    Parts Store or Dealer
    -Crank bolt $6
-Timing chain cover gasket set $40
    -Valve cover gaskets $13

    CAM
At Summit part # crn-1449561 it is priced at $468.95 can pick it up from Vincihiperformance.com for $405 known as the Trucker

Looking at about $800 to a grand. Depending on part cost and shipping in your location.

Ofcourse you'll need a tune to compliment your setup, that's up to you. I had mine dyno tuned at MTI Racing in Marietta Ga. If your in the GA area there is also Vengeance, Atlanta Performance and Dynolab that I know of. All located on the northside.
