Right out side New Orleans. Thanks for the tip, I'll give them a call. I might need to change my name to inoverMYhead...
so I talked to Jared at Current performance. He said they can do the harness and tuning, but I need to take off the tranny pan to remove the computer and send it to him as well. Not a bad price at all for the tune. A little pricey for the wiring but it's worth my time since I work offshore and don't get to spend much with the family.
Also, got some more work done to the truck yesterday. I scored a returned engine hoist from the local parts store for $100. It didn't have any wheels on it so I went to the hardware store and bought some casters, re-drilled some holes and it worked fine. A few beers and a couple busted knuckles later, the old 305 and 700R4 were out. It took the help of my 99' Camaro to pull the engine hoist though. I don't have solid ground to work on since the swap is taking place in the spare lot next door. We hooked up a strap to the hitch on the Camaro and kept laying out some plywood so the wheels would roll.
After the old stuff was out, I decide to remove the front cap off the truck. I don't want to scratch up the new power plant ya know....

lol yeah I came up w/the name more as a reference to cash flow problemsbut it's slowly turning into just plain ole in over my head. Like the pull strap on the hoist! that's some of that good ole southern ingenuity hard at work. I'll have to get pics of my work area up for you to see. Glad to hear that Current Perf is able to help out w/that. Good luck and keep us posted

Yeah, Im makin the most out of what I got. I'd kill for solid ground to work on. The truck already fell once while trying to move some jack stands.
I just went out and got a bead blaster last night. About to get started on dressing up the engine bay. Man with every piece I remove, I want to take it a step further. I might just take off the cab and bed.
Might as well. Do it once and do it all. That way when it's all done you don't say ''Awww man...why the F didn't I fix this when it was apart and easy!!!!''
We all have done it. And everything for these trucks is cheap.

Awesome looking combo. Look forward to progress reports.
Anyone know where to get a set of brackets to move the a/c and alt. higher on the engine away from the bottom. I'm having clearance issues with the motor mount adapter plates. I know I've seen them on here, but i'm having trouble finding it again. Bout to start bookmarking everything I come across.
Anyone tried installing these mounts backwards, with the point facing back? if so, how did it work out. I don't see any major problem other than throwing the center of gravity off by putting the engine further towards the front end, thus reducing the trucks stability a tad bit They fit when installed backwards, so I may just drop it in like that and see what it looks/feels like....
