My current daily driver is a 1997 RCSB. 4.3, rebuilt/shift-kitted 4L60, 3.42 open diff. It is slightly faster than a Power Wheels kiddie toy, but does tow marginally better...

What would be the easiest swap into it? I like the truck, have had it since I was 17 and want to keep it no matter what, but the V6 is getting pretty tired and has multiple oil leaks.

I was thinking an R-code 350 donor-truck and a long weekend... How involved is this swap (keeping the fuel injection)? I am also interested in other swaps: 5.3, 6.0 and others. I feel that the Vortec 350 would be the easiest, but offer the least performance. Does anyone have any advice, recommendations, or pointers?

I think the standard answer in a 6.0L LQ9 engine for the heads, buy the 4.0" stroker crank and rod kit with lower compression pistons, down to about 8.5:1, and then put the biggest turbo on it you can find, along with an air to air intercooler. Install 55lb/hr fuel injectors minimum and a much larger fuel pump in the tank, maybe 340 LPH or dual 255s. Crank the boost up to about 15lbs. Get it all assembled and drive, drag or tow it to San Antonio and have Farmtruc tune it up for you on the dyno.

    Any more questions?
