Yeah I wouldn't completely write off a Dakota R/T, if it's done right. Those Mag motors need the combo dead perfect. Plus 3.92 gears (if he hasn't upgraded) and the torque of a 360 might get the jump on ya. Hemi Ram's meh I'm not impressed with them. I'm from a Mopar backround too

You can run the rt but you will loose. I know of two around here one with a jet chip and one with heads cam. I tried to race the one with the chip before my nitrous, gears and stall and he ate me up bad from the start. I worked with the guy who owned the heads cam R/T. I rode with him a couple times and it was fast. Only problem was he couldn't catch traction for nothin.

A friend of mine has a Dakota R/T 5.9 with a intake and msd wires, rolling on 20’s with 295 wide tires and I’ve been for a ride with him and I wasn’t that impressed at all. He has a bitch of a time keeping grip from a dig (I don’t know what gears he’s got or if there stock and he doesn’t know ether)

I think you’ll blow the r/t away if he gets to excited and lunches at full tilt

I keep seeing this truck around town, and I get so caught up in listening to it and wanting to race it. I forget to see what exactly it is. It's a dodge i'm pretty sure, and it's 4x4 and has the sports edition pack, I think. it has a twin scoop though, and straight dual exhausts out the back. Has that fin in the back as well. It sounds mean as hell, and this older guy has it and races almost everyone in it. Thinks he's johnny badass. I finally caught up with him yesterday ( first day with my truck in 2 months) The guy wouldn't race me. He was just getting on it with another guy, and i pull next to him to get some, but nada. I dont know if it was because he watched me race a new challenger or what. Sucks though, as I love the way his truck looks, and just wanted to see what it had in it. I still can't find a truck that looks like it though.

Is your truck 2wd? If so, a gear swap would make your truck a lot quicker. Then get a new higher stalling torque converter. It's always more fun to blow them away by a bunch of car lengths, than to just barely beat them.

Ya my trucks 2wd. Ive been thinking about a gear swap, im just not sure what ratio to go with. But ya thats why I put the sticker on is to get some hemis to race! Theres also a couple kids around here with F150s and I cant wait to pull up to one of them but thats an easy one. The R/T my friend has is bone stock he just took most of the exhaust off so it just sounds mean. Ive been in it and wasnt really that impressed he kind of makes it seem a little faster than it is because he shifts it manualy. Im kinda afraid to shift my silverado manualy like he does cause I have a feeling the 60E wont like it very much. Is there any guys on here from the Connecticut area or anywhere in the north east? I live in Florida in the winter and there seems to be alot of floridians on here

1st off dont shift an automatic manually.....that is ricer gayness, put it in D and mash it.. there is no reason you shouldnt handle a Hemi or an RT right now, but you need to get some gears, itll help you a lot, or grab a 100 shot
