Why not more 454's?

There's been a hand full reach high 6's, more than I can count running 7's... I would leave someone out. Hell, there's an LS based full size truck on this site that has the potential to run a 7 lol. How much power are those 7 and 8 sec. cars putting down?... chances are you can get as much power out of a turbo'd 370

BBCs have gone that quick and quicker for years. It's no big deal for a BBC to make over 2,500hp.

a. because they don't feel like driving two hours to the nearest drag strip
b. because there isn't a suitable place within the city to actually go from a stop
c. they aren't really setup for the drag strip
d. there not ga-ga over racing at the track
