    4L60E lockup bypass?

    Is there such a thing?
I saw a bypass kit for a 700r4 and was wondering if there is a way to do it to the 4L60E?

if you don't want the TCC to lock up you can cut the signal wire from the PCM and extend the wires to a toggle switch on the dash to turn it on or off.

Would it hurt the transmission to do it?

no it wont hurt it, but why would you want that? you should also be able to bypass it with the tune.

What are benefit are you trying to get out of it not locking up?

Might throw a code. Would be a neat feature for rolling up hills and not lugging.

The newer transmissions use a new PWM valve that gives it partial lockup which might complicate things, but you can swap out for the pre-95 valve (so it's either locked or unlocked).

May also think it's slipping and enter full pressure mode or throw a code.

I would think it would make your trans run really hot.

No reason to disable lock up... unless u want to put 2-3 units in there before you figure out that is a bad idea.... I notice you have a Circle D stall.. You have enough parts its time for a Live tune !

Well here was my thinking...I thought when the stall was locked up your not really getting much from it as far as your power to tq conversion. Say I want to pass a car and I'm going 50 mph (in lockup). If the TC is locked up I'm not getting as much foward momentum when it down shifts? Right?

I thought if I could turn it off I would get more out of it and still get mpg's when I want em?

I'm in the process of installing the tc, shift kit and a 4/6 drop. The tc will be in this weekend.

Just tap the brake pedal like you would to shut off cruise control and that will unlock the converter. Or just get in the throttle more

Most sports require one ball, motocross requires two.

Racing isn't a matter of life and death, it's much more important than that.
