You don't replace it, unless you do a new fuel pump.
Gotcha. Won't the filter/strainer get clogged over time?

Okay so it's good to kno I'm not the only person to not kno these trucks didn't have a filter on them...
Truck: 05 GMC CCSB SLT Z71,
Go Faster: 5.3, 219/227 .607/.614 112, milled heads, eBay CAI, Circle D 2800, 3030 Built 60E, E-Fans, 3030 Tuned, LT's, Spintech Muffler, DuraGrip w/ 3.73's
Look Better: 10K HID's lows & fogs, tinted Chevy tails
Yeah, it sucks that the fuel filter is inside the fuel pump bucket and to replace the filter you have to replace a nearly $500 fuel pump assembly if it gets dirty. I can't imagine what it would take to rig up a new filter in the old bucket.

I crawled around for about an hour under my 2006 looking for a fuel filter. Didnt help that the guy at the parts store sold me one, but cant really blame him I guess. Came back in the house, searched the forum and quickly figured out why I was having such a hard time![]()
