I've run rubber hose made for fuel injected engines with no issues. Used worm clamps, 2 per end. The worms destroy the outter shield of the hose. I started using the band clamp style to keep from damaging the hose. Braided hose would be advised for the abrasion resistance and higher burst pressures.
