I wouldn't go anywhere if I were in your shoes. We will definitely give you a shout when we visit our family in Oceanside. We're touring suthern California either this summer or at Christmas time so some local input would be great. SoCal is on the top of our move list, followed by south padre and Houston or Austin. We want to check out the winter months of all places since the weather is our primary reason to leave. It also depends on what Ashlei can make starting off vs. cost of living since she's the one with the education. I am well rounded so it shouldn't be hard for me to find a job, but I'm not leaving mine for a few years at least so I can save up.

SoCal is a nice place to visit, but can be a very expensive place to live. Houses are very expensive and apartments are pretty pricey too. It's so bad there that extended families all have to live in the same house because they can't afford a house of their own.
And from what I've seen the city/state never misses a chance to reach in your wallet for other things whenever possible.
