heads and cam

hey guys,
i can soon aqcuire a set of Z06 heads and Z06 cam brand new for about 800 dollars through a friend...

i have a 99 ECSB silverado with the 5.3...

how much of a performance increase would this add???

i currently have just the K&N intake and BORLA exhaust...

also is this a good combo to put on my engine for a decent daily driver HP upgrade????

I think I would shop around before I bought the heads and cam from him for $800. You can buy a set of stage two PP heads for $1195 they flow 300 cfm at 600 lift. Just my my 2 cents worth. If you want at set of good heads I have aset of ported/polished 5.7LS1 heads with 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhaust valves. I just got them back from the machine shop I had them milled .005" to straiten them back up. I will sell them plus a LS1 cam for $450.

thanks for the quick reply..hmm..would your heads plus the LS1 cam render a similar performance gain as the Z06 heads and cam would on my engine?? what if i did your heads and a Z06 cam??

Yeah my heads plus a z06 cam would work beter. A LS1 cam is not much bigger than a 4.8/5.3 cam but I bet my heads would make more power than a stock LS6 head. I have them in NC and im in Ga know but If your interested I could pick them up this weekend. Im running a twin turbo setup so I went with the 6.0 heads to lower my compression alittle bit.

how much for just the heads? i think i am going with the LS6 cam but your heads sound good to me as long as they are just a bolt on thing..

HP increase???
TQ increase???

would i need a tune from allen or would it be alright for a short time with the stock PCM?

You could run these with your stock tune but would be alot beter off with a good tune from allen. Im not sure on the hp/tq increase but I would geuss with the z06 cam and these heads a good 40hp increase is possible. If you just want the heads I will sell them for $400 plus shipping. The heads dont have any valve springs but I can include some springs that came off the 6.0 heads if you want them.

I will do $450 shipped. I know it will cost at least $60-$70 to ship them beacuse I shipped a set of speakers/boxes last week and it cost $83 to ship them to mi. If you want to get them here is my address.

I wish there was a local DHL. THe store I us is a local UPS store and there high. I went to ups website and put all the infomation in for the speakers, weight # of boxes ect... It come up with $45 but when I went there they charged me $83. That also included them boxing/packing it for me so That was like $15 so really the shipping was only $68 but I think that was still high Oh well its done.
