Thread: Tow/Haul for OBS swap?

    Tow/Haul for OBS swap?

I'm putting a lq4 in my 98 c1500. I was wondering is there anyway to get a tow/haul mode? I'm using the 411 pcm and a reworked 01 silverado harness.

Yes, it can be done. People have been adding Tow/haul to vettes and F-bodies for a while.

Stock, yes the BCM is involved. But with some reprogramming and a momentary switch on the right pins you can bypass that. Not sure if anybody ever worked out a status LED or not.

The thing about tow/haul function is that you can tune it to do whatever you want. I know people that tune it so that it shifts smooth when they are just cruisin then if they wanna race they hit the button and it brakes necks when it shifts.

My tuner(Nelson) and harness guy are working this into my swap setup right now.

Thats badass. So pretty much you can have a tune set for just daily driving and a hot rod version?

Are you having nelson do your harness as well? I was thinking about sending in my harness and computer to him this week.

Ya, it's not a complete tune but it can change how the transmission acts.
I am havin a buddy do my harness. Nelsons harnesses are awesome (so everyone says) but my buddy does it for cheap, does a good job, and is gonna hook it all up for me as well.
