You said the converter spun the whole time, so how could it have caused the damage?
What year/model is your truck. I'm guessing a 2500 since you have 6.0 in your username.

yea your right, it wasnt the converter. I just must not had the trans sat on all the way. Im either going to get a book and do the work my self and exchange cases, or take it to a guy and pay like 800 bucks not sure yet. I really do want to do it myself so ill learn.

So can i get away with just using a feeler gauge for the 4th gear drum seal. And also i was reading when installing the snap ring the retains the drum you want to install it at a 3oclock position rather then the 9 ocolck that the book tells you to.
