    Transmission linkage

What are yall guys with the older, 60's and 70's trucks doing to hook up your column to your trans?

    Thanks,

that's a tough one, but mounts and heim joints might be the best way, it'll be an upgrade from the stock stuff.

If your installing a 4L60E, for example...I would figure out how to install a cable operated shifter. But thats just me, lol.

If your installing an auto just try to get the engine and stuff in the stock location. Ive got a 92 and I'm using my column linkage.

Just went through this with a pro street '97 S-10 and will be going through it again with my LQ4/OBS swap.

IIRC, the trucks went to the cable shift in '95 when the column and dash changed.
Look for 4L60e linkage from '93-'94 full size trucks,
or 4L80e linkage from '91-'94 trucks.
They used rod type linkage, and I think they used the P/N, GPS, backup light switch on the trans. also.
Might look under '93-'94 square body S-Blazers with the
4L60e, also. On the S-10 pickups, '93 would be the only year for 4L60e without cable shift.
Might check under the '93-'94 G series vans also.
