Funny how people will wrench the crap out of bolt to take it off. Any time you have dissimilar materials together, aluminum and steel, you get corrosion. Add heat and humidity and corrosion is enhanced. I always take my hammer and beat on the bolt heads before trying to remove them from aluminum if there is any resistance. This helps to break the corrosion loose. You can shoot a gallon of wd40 on the head of the bolt and it won't get to the threads due to the fact the the head of the bolt is sealed to the mating surface.

You're lucky. If you must, you can remove the inner fender liner to get better access to work the remains of the bolt.

ok my gaskets are new and completely sealed, no visible or leaks that i can feel, but can still hear a very loud leak when accelerating. The gaskets were done by the stealership and checked over since I could stear hear the hiss. Any other guesses where this leak could be coming from, possibly cracks in manifolds?

Also, the welds were also double checked over by the same muffler shop that did my exhaust while i was under the truck with them looking. This is pissing me off!!

Try the old banana in the tailpipe trick, start the engine and listen for leaks. If you smoke, try blowing your smoke around the areas in question to see if you can see where the exhaust gases disturb the smoke. There is a crush gasket on the driver side y-pipe that has to be replaced when you work on the pipes.

When I had 2002 truck manifolds on my 92 I had to take the driver side manifold off and file the flanges flat on both the manifold and the y-pipe. The heat from the exhaust and the torque on the crush gasket caused the ear area that the collector bolts go through to warp, resulting in a leak.

Are yoiu guys talking about the donut gaskets on the manifolds? I had those replaced. I have dual 2.25" pipes run from the manifold flanges back so i did away with the factory Y pipe.

There are no donut gaskets on the manifolds like they had in the old days. Now its just a thin circular ring about 3/16" in diameter that gets sandwiched in a groove. If I remember correctly there is only one in the driver side. The passenger side has a flat gasket.
