Re-install using the old bolt and torque to 240 ft lbs. Remove old bolt and torque new bolt to 37 ft lbs. Now tighten the bolt an additional 140 degrees. You're done.

I would replace the bolt. I bought one from GM for $3.29 plus tax. That's cheap and you don't have to worry about rounded off threads next time.

U can borrow or buy a tool to remove it at Autozone then take an impact wrench to it. It willl come off. Use a fine machine oil if necessary. I am guilty of it in the past but I would never ever again use a hammer, crow bar or whatever. You have endangered your balancer if you do and there are main bearings and other inportant stuff back there. More stuff in the LT1 and above engines. You can also cool the crank as well. But I've never had one not come off with a decent impact wrench. Sometimes your balancer will break but that's ok. They are cheaper to replace than some other things. /off soap box
