servo vent hole has anyone seen this?

Some gaskets don't have a cut out on them for this vent hole so you have to trim the gasket around the hole, sometimes people will used silicone on the pan and block the hole. If it is blocked the band won't work correctly. The band is applied in 2nd and 4th. It may or may not be the problem but it might be worth a shot to check it out.

In all the 60e's I've built I've never seen that hole before. Looking at the bellhousing on the trans it's obviously a very early model.

I did find a pic in the ATSG manual of the hole, it is an exhaust vent hole for the servo I believe. I've never seen one, or should I say never noticed one on a 4L60E transmission, though.

Yeah I guess people have said it caused 2nd and 4th to slip, just like mine. I hooked a scanner up and went for a test drive. No codes, 1st and 3rd work perfect.

Just an FYI every 700r4 and 4l60e has this hole. Personally I have never seen a gasket that covers it but I guess it is possible. Vince

Yeah well read above because he warned against silicon on the pan too and who the eff would ever use that on a trans pan?
