i just removed the trans crossmember
get rid of the frame rails they weigh a ton.
Step 1. crus at it.
Step 2. get a hammer.
Step 3. torch it.
for those that removed the spare crossmember...
(i have a body lift and spare hangs below bumper, it's ugly anyway and I want a fullsize mounted to my rollcage)
how did you remove it? It looks like it has to be cut out. How much did it weight? If it was an unbolt, put back to stock later, i'd do it for a 20lbs saving. If i have to permenantly cut it out...it better weight over 100lbs.
Thanks.

Exactly what I was thinking. Its an effing truck for goodness sake. You wont be getting weight down by much if youre not willing to remove the gate and seats and other things. And to be honest add more power before you start worrying about removing weight.![]()
