Damnest thing is a guy in LA just bought a A/C bracket and pulleys from me and I shipped them to him last week. DHL picked them up here, took them to FtWorth, then to Waco and then to their main hub in Ohio. The package was on a truck waiting to be shipped after the hurricane blew through. The guy lived in Gretna which is just south of lake Ponch. If the package would have been delivered, it would be under water today. I bet he is sick because his entire world is under water down there. Nobody expected that level of flooding.

Anyone read the article about the funding that was cut for the last 5 years and then the Feds wanted another study to see if the problem really existed? Levees sinking 4' in a year and no money to do anything? local paper articles stating that the war sucked all the money that was ear marked 5 years prior was revoked for other projects since the need was not prevelant? Ain't that the shit....
Yeah, but the city was doomed from the word GO. It was built on the edge of the ocean and below sea level. Without constantly doing some engineering to keep the ocean from overtaking it, it was just a matter of time before the US has it's own version of Vienna. I am surprised that it didn't happen earlier. I'm surprised the Miss didn't wash them away before now.

Exactly... not if but WHEN. They were warned it was coming far in advance to get the hell out of town.Originally posted by RedHeartbeat@Sep 2 2005, 08:17 AM
