    piston to valve clearence??

ok ive been gathering parts for my 6.0/l92 build

i currently have a MS3 cam (237/242 .603/.609 114lsa), and factory LQ9 pistons (no valve reliefs) l92 heads that will get P&P and milled.

i want CR to be pretty high, but at what point do i get P to V clearance issues?

the plan is to get the blocked deck .010, heads milled down to 68cc and run a .030 gasket, what are yall thoughts? and what should that put the CR at?

PTV clearances vary and the only REAL way to make sure you have enough clearances is to check yourself.

That cam should work well for your setup.

L92s have a 69.8cc size stock. It will only get bigger with a PnP job, but that can be reduced my milling them and then having the block decked. LQ9s run a 10.4:1 CR because of the flat top pistons on the 72cc 317 head. Now, since there is a 4cc drop in cc size, the CR should bump roughly 11.4:1. But that is before the PnP job...

To get the correct CR, have the PnP work done...and then get that cc value. From there, you should be able to get the correct CR.

the heads will be 68cc after bowl work and milling...so when they go on the motor they will have 68cc so what does that make it with .010 taken out of the block and the thinner .030 head gaskets?

my 69 camaro engine is a new 6.0 block with eagle crank and manley l92 pistons. i can tell you with un decked block and 590 ish lift clearance is ridiculous. i clayed it during assy. thinking it might be close. after cutting the clay i didnt even bother to mic it is was so thick. gives me room to grow in the cam dept. again manley pistons not stock though.....

Hey Ryan getting close. you will a dial indicator wheel and a degree wheel. . YOu will need to check in several places. 5,10,15 degree before/after TDC. Once cam is degree'd in, rotate to the points above, then zero dial indicator, Push valve down until you make contact. Write it down the specs and move on to the next spec writing them down. YOu will only need one rod/psiton package and very light spring on the valve...
There is a min. you want this not sure what that spec is.

Or do the clay method like Gene did.
