Are you going to get the Nelson tune to go with it or try and tune yourself? It doenst need much tuning, but it will need some to get it running tops! I have that cam in my ex cab Z71 and love it. I have hptuners and Allen is working with my logs to get it tweaked to perfection! You will need a higher stall converter, especially in that HD or you will be hurting a bit on the low end, but the top end will improve nicely. Also, get the stock Z06 springs or some Comp 918 springs to go with it.

i go to UTI and i have a teacher iam good friends witha teacher thats really good at tuning and we have a free dyno if i buy the program he will tune it for free. but i can still do it with out a stall i will just loose on the low end it wont hurt any thing though and i already have a set of comp 918s i am going to use

i was reading on sdpc that the ls6 cam has smaller base circle than an ls1 cam and it would require longer push rods if this is true do in need longer push rods or can i use the stock ones or what size would i need

I didn't know they were smaller. I know most aftermarket cams are ground on a .050" smaller circle requiring .025" longer rods. I'd call Comp Cams and ask the techs there. They will steer you in the right direction.

No you will not need longer pushrods, the same pushrods are used for the Z06 cam as the 5.3L stock.

You will be better off with after market push rods. The stock ones have a tendency to bend. It's fairly cheap and easy while you are in there.
