    That's what I was thinking...

He said it was a 1/4" or so...sounds fine to me...maybe this Yank verter has long enough ears for this to work without needing an LS1 flexplate or spacer...????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????

    flexplate fine
Yes, this could be true--but it may have pulled the converter hub too far out from the front pump. I honestly would not drive it until you get a hold of Yank and find out.

stop worrying these guys should know its fine. 80e swap does eat some power. your convertor is fine. no spacer needed. 80e has a different 1st gear ratio. plus your stall is large if you have a stock cam.
measure and put some miles and cam and spray.

I agree your converter is big for a stock cam. Get yourself a big cam to go with the verter

sounds to me like you already did your calling to verify that this combo would work...
the reason you feel slower is due to the 5.3 with a stock cam behind a 3600 stall and you need to remember that an 80e has a long first gear...

throw a big cam in that sucker and some spray and you will know you did the right thing
