If you don't mind replacing your tires after 30k miles and quite a hum on the highway, the claws will be some nice tires.
You would almost be better off getting a second pair of rims and tires for off road use. with the cost of decent mud tires it would be worth it to change them for going off roading. check out the MT mtz also
I have to disagree with you on them being rough on the street, I think My 37" Baja Claws Have been some of the smoothest running tires I have had! So far My tire have 15K miles and the are showing little wear... well minus all the chunks taken out of them from the trails
