Don't pry on the flexplate.
Giving it hell up and down and side to side at the rear of the trans along with WD40 in the bell dowels is the best way but be careful.
this was the only way to get mine apart when i replaced the tranny. i triple checked all bolts and tried prybars and wound up getting pissed and just snatching like crazy before it came unseized.
