Thread: 5.3/6.0 with 700r4

    Oh god. Since when do 5.3/6.0 swaps equal Duramax torque? Me and the OP are using them behind mild gen III swaps. Somebody said they won't last. Well I disagree (when built properly). Of course there not going to last behind Duramax torque and towing. But they are in 3988lb trucks running 9's. I have rebuilt these trans and are very familiar with their operation and their limits. I would love to have a 80 in my K5 or Camaro but will cost more than I want to spend. Lets just agree that they have their place.

    The 700r4 is legendary for issues. GM had class action lawsuits against them because of the 700r4 back in the day. You could help the OP by building his trans up to specs to make it last, that's what friends are for right.
    To the OP: Welcome to Street & Peformance has a lot of adapters to make the 700r4 transmission cable hook up to LSx based vehicles. Give them a call and see what they have to offer.
