hey guys, i was thinking about getting a single cab 4.8 chevy or gmc and getting a 6.0 on the side and putting some 243 heads and an ls6 cam in it and keeping the vortec intake and just put some shorty headers on it with h-pipe. would that be worth making a sleeper out of. and what possible hp and torque ratings would i be looking at if anyone has an idea. just trying to get an idea. all help is appreciated. if not then thanks for taking the time to read.

If you want it to be a sleeper I would get a bigger cam and long tubes. Shortys suck.

Meh, sleeper or not.. without taking modding seriously, you'll be looking at lots of tail lights.

Now if you went with 243 heads, a cam to match, Long tubes with a good exhaust after that. a decent size Stall, gears to match what you want to do. and then a 150 shot.
Now your getting closer to a sleeper and low on funds
Or just put a 6L in it and bolt on a turbo

Of course I'd have to chime in on this, a turbo or supercharger are dead giveaways because of noise, as are massive cams so there's only one real internal power adder left. Compression. Mill those 243's or get 706's of a 5.3 get it up around 11:1, a cam with a fairly wide LSA (Like 114) a nice quiet exhaust with a cutout added and just to make sure you don't bring a knife to a gunfight a nice shot of the good stuff.

well i was thinking of the 243 heads on a 6L with an ls6 cam with long tubes and h-pipe. and i can really speak well for the h-pipe. it alone helped me against tuned trucks with intake and y-pipe with same engine and gears as mine. that is of course till i hit 98but after i got it tuned i was getting everyone. and i dont know if the dude couldnt drive but i raced a rumble bee with cam and headers and we did a 30 roll and at 90 i had 3/4s a car on him. so i mean i do know what i want its just that my budget is really tight. and before i did all that stuff to my last truck i totalled it.
