Just do it, you'll never look back and regret the day you went 80e.That is if you put a lightweight stall converter with it.
Stock 80e converters are HP hogs.
Transmissioncenter.net has everything you need to do the swap, minus the driveshaft modification. Trans, xmember already modified, yoke, need one additional speed sensor pickup and wiring and then you need to re-pin the round connector or buy the adapter and speed sensor wiring from Allen. After that you need an 80e overlay in your PCM so it shifts correctly.
