Let's say they want me to tune their trucks.. How much should I charge them?? I've never done this before but noone else tune trucks around here.. Practice on your own truck first and read and read and read then a couple hundred bucks is likely a fair amount.

Yes sir, I will do that for sure.. I will do my homework in my truck.. When I feel ready, go ahead and start tuning someone else truck..
I've heard that there are people that knows how to tune that you can send them the truck info, and they send you a tune and you can install it with hptuners.. Is that right? How much do they normally charge?

that will include the money I would need to pay for the credits from HPtuners??
Im assuming each credit is $49 like their page says.. so, to tune lets say a 2006 Silverado.. CAI, headers, and aftermarket gear ratio, I will need 2 credits? thats what I undestood from some reading in HPT forum..

Lemme know if im wrong please..

A good way to do it is to buy the unlimited license when you tune a vehicle so that you can tune limitless number of vehicles of that type/year model. For a little while you may be doing nothing but paying for licenses but eventually it turns into pure profits.

Thanks Red! Let me get this straight.. Type/year model..? So, if I get a unlimited license for a 2006 silverado as mine, it won't work for 2005 nor 2007 for example? Just 06's?? Or will it work with trucks with the same drive train?

a good price would be around 200-300. shops normally charge around 400 but youd probably get a dyno run with it at a shop as well.

you should have them pitch in on the HPtuners and you get 8 credits with the purchase so you could tune your truck and 3 others then after youve learned on those 4 trucks you can start charging people for other tunes.
