Newb from Tulsa w the C3

What's going on guys? I'm really impressed with the communication on this site, so I'm looking forward to joining. I don't know a whole lot about engine/tranny upgrades, so I'm looking to learn.
I want to give my truck some umph, as I'm sure all of you do. I really like the idea of the turbo setups, but from what I'm reading you need to make sure your transmission can handle power upgrades. Trouble is, I have AWD and don't know what to do with it.
So, I need your guys' opinion on tranny and engine upgrades. What do you think?
