Ashley looks like her dadand the NHRA and its racing type went into non-factor status in the late 90's.
I'm with Jon now days. It is irrelevant and it's no oddity I never heard of the 1000' thing. Silly really.....they cannot even keep a title sponsor.

The 1000' was put after the death last year...They believe tracks need to lengthen the shut down area since the cars have got alot faster since the design of the tracks...its a safety deal thats all.
ya, even though the 1000' deal makes for less of a show, its a safety issue and therefore i am fine with it. it was a pretty tragic thing when Kalitta died, and this is about the only option the NHRA had besides taking power away from the cars.... so they just did what they had to do
