Every time I look at my check it upsets me that I probably will never get a penny of the money I put into social security.

Travis, how much have you put in really? Well, if it's a dollar it's too much. Never mind. What a sorry system.

    Congrats Can.

Probably a good $5000-6000 over the last year and a half...not much I know but it's as far back as I remember. Over the time I've been working...5 years...I've probably put in around $8000. Probably nothing compared to most of yall but I mean it's still monies I won't ever get back.

Congrats! I assume you had a Practical exam like I had when I got my EMT way back when.......prepared or not, that was a nail-biter heh.

Yeah, man......I'm almost 40, been working since I was 16. I think I was unemployed for a whole 2 weeks once after I got out of the Navy....that's it. I had second jobs for a decent bit as well, so I've given them a LOT of money over the past 23 years; I'll give them a lot more before I can retire too. I'm pretty much counting on not seeing a dime from Social Security either. Just look at the bottom number on your pay stub and don't pay attention to the other numbers. It makes it easier.
