    finally getting some time to come work on the truck. my 58t to 24t converter has arrived along with the right fuel line and fittings. im going to be too busy tomorrow to go pick up my motor so maybe i'll get it done tuesday. which sucks bc i dont get a lot of days off so i need all the time i can get to work on this thing. i plan on cleaning the frame and some other things up today and hopefully getting the old wiring harness out.
    what am i to actually keep? the oil pressure wiring, alt wiring, water temp, the solenoid wire that went to the stater? so when the new harness is made it can be spliced in?

    Leave the wiring intact until you have the new harness to tie into it. You'll need all mentioned plus switched power leads. All the wires come out of the driver side of the firewall next to the brake booster.

    ok, this is what i have done so far.
    took the purple solenoid wire out of the harness, the ALT wire (its only 1 wire that plugs in) is on the side, i have taken all 3 AC compressor plugs out and set aside. i have pulled the throttle cable out(need the 98 vortec one right?) i moved have started to single out the windsheild wiper motor wires(like 5) im not cutting any wires except a ground that ran 4 grounds(i have tie wrapped together to make sure they do not get lost) i have cleaned them up out of the harness too. it's honestly pretty easy if you have everything labeled (stuff you know you'll need) im using my stock AC so i need all 3 of those wires.
    once i get the wiring cleaned up and out of the loom ill get it out of the way so i can start cleaning the engine bay.
    my adapter plates wont be here for another week or so....its kind of a set back but it's ok, it just allows me to tackle my fuel system and get stuff cleaned up

    you need is 12" 3/8 extension, a swivel, a 15mm short socket(to go through the bottom of the control arm. then a 15mm short socket for the bolt itself. i found it easy to put it on jack stands and come from the front of the truck and look into the frame where the control arm bolts in. so yes i would have my frame mounts in if it wasnt for AUTOZONE retards(in gramercy) for selling me 2 different mounts. a$$holes. now i have to clean up, head to the parts store to chase down parts. then my radiator hoses arent for a truck, they are for a vette now i have to return these mfers and get the right ones! just because i order a vette filter for this, doesnt mean im looking for parts for a vette UNLESS i mention hey its for a vette you ass. sorry rant over.

    well have the right motor mounts now, my next door neighbor gave me some block mounts. i have the motor and tranny paid for just waiting on the tranny to come. now all i have to do is order my fuel pump, wiring harness, radiator and e fans oh and fuel line

    well, i have the motor mounts bolted in....wow f that. im going to take your advice Redheartbeat and wait till i have the new harness in my hands to see what all i need to cut out and such forth.
    do i need to keep my oil pressure, water temp sensors? or can i just run the new sensors in the motor and find pig tails to wire into my factory connections?

    use the old sensors off the old engine and the stock wires that go with them. Mount the oil pressure gauge in the block just above the oil filter on the side of the oil pan. Water temp will go into the passenger side head at the back, similar to the one at the front on the drivers side. You'll need an adapter to make that fit or just drill and tap the head to fit the sensor. You could move it to the water pump if you don't have room or are nervous about using an adapter. I tapped a hole in my last pump just behind the tensioner.

    thank you! ill look into an adapter if it looks cheap ill jus drill an tap the water pump

    the adapter is like 19.00 plus shipping, they make a oil block off plate that accepts the adapter but i think id rather just buy the adapter for the water temp sensor and drill and tap for the oil pressure to save a lil money.

    are the 08 injectors the same plugs as the 99-07 classic injectors?

    been on nights this week, so i havent gotten much done other than mounting my external tranny cooler.

    there's one more bracket that goes at the bottom but i think this is gonna be ok so i'll see how it goes.
    i want to put compression fittings on the cooler into a SS braided line and go to a -6AN fitting into the radiator cooler that way it looks cleaner than the crap that comes with the cooler itself. the cooler isnt very big but then again im not running a huge cam or a large stall (TB Stall) so i think it'll do. only had to drill 1 hole on the left of it to mount to the AC Condensor and a hole in the bracket to mount to the cooler itself. so it was really simple.

    i should be picking up my motor and tranny tomorrow but it'll be on a pallet for a week bc ill be on days this week coming. but while i wait on my stall and adapter plates to arrive ill go ahead an do the servos and shift kit. i want it to shift firm at part throttle and firm on the WOT. i just dont want it to snap my neck everytime it shifts at part throttle.

    i can't wait to finish this thing, the love bugs are killing my truck. plus i want to put gears/stall/shift kit/servos/cam in my CC
