Sorry to hear about your brother's problems . It's tough to get anywhere when you get ripped off . Did he pay with a credit card or his bank issued debit card which is just like a credit card ? If so , he can start a dispute file and maybe get most , if not all of his money back . I got ripped off by an a/c guy when I was visiting in Florida for over $200 . Long story short , I had payed with my bank card and called the bank . They sent me the paper work 2 or 3 times to fill out with different questions . What helped me was making a concession . In other words I said they had done part of the repair properly , which they had by fixing a hose . What they hadn't done was to find the real leak and they had to knkow it was leaking so I knew they were lying to me - it stopped working later that day. I ended up getting $170 back and then I called the guy to rub it in !! What he may have to do is take pictures and document everything that he can to submit to his bank and it all needs to be well written out and worded . Well , hope this helps him out . Also there's a website - ripoffreport.com . All this does is to alert other people who might look them up for a review on the web. It's free to post . Proving they took it out for a joy ride is going to very difficult unless you could put pressure on someone to rat . If you know any cops you might be able to pull it off somehow but it 's a longshot .

yeah we reported them and called the credit card company to stop payment due to a dispute. and we just got it to our main mechanic and the computer is fried it wont even scan and its only running on 5 cylinders. so we are still fighting to get it resolved.

Sounds like they took well over 1200 dollars worth out of your brothers motor. Is there any idea of the mileage when it went in shop and when it came back? If I ever leave my truck somewhere and they have access to it I write the mileage down. Personally think your brother has alot more then wheels to worry about in that lawsuit!
