in a 4x4, swapping to an 80e isn't just a matter of swapping transmissions, it requires mods to the xfer case or a swap of xfer cases assemblies. The output shaft in the 80e is much larger than the output shaft in the 60e so it won't fit inside the stock 60e xfer case. You might check out some of the vendor that sell adapters like TransDapt and others to see if they have a conversion kit to make one work with the other so that you don't have to buy both the trans and xfer case. Someone might even make an output shaft that you can install inside the 80e that is the same size as a 60e output shaft.
