    Tune my 4.3??

Alright so i've recently been wanting to get a tune from Nelson for my 1997 RCLB and I was hoping you guys, or Allen could chime in on some questions I have. The truck currently has a 4.3 (I know, weaksauce) and stock trans, it will eventually have an lq4 and other goodies but not till I graduate next year. So, if I get a tune now, would it help at all with the ity bitty 4.3? Also, if I get one now, it's my understanding when I get the new PCM for the lq4 I'll have to pay for the new tune, right? I was thinking it'd be a good investment for the time being until I get my new setup, what do yall think?

I'd drive it as-is for now and worry about the tune when you do the conversion.

Yeah don't worry about it. I got my 4.3 tuned and it was fun and all, but then I upgraded and went to the 5.3

Alright guys, thanks for the input. I guess I'll mull it over for a bit and maybe just end up setting the cash aside for my swap.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking... Even if it made it a little more fun to drive and not just to look at, it'd be worth it. I'm waiting on a call back from Nelson then I'll figure it out! God I can't wait for the swap, this thing's a dog!!

    Thank you Melissa! Pm returned.
I've decided to go ahead and get the 4.3 tuned until I get the new motor. From all the amazing things I've heard about Nelson, I'm sure it'll exceed my expectations.

Update: Got the tune in the mail today! Drove an hour home to get it, installed in 5 mins, and I was back on the road to my apartment... Ended up burying the speedo on the way back (OBS speedo that goes to 100) which I was pretty happy about. It REALLY woke itself up tonight coming back from dinner. It's great to have a truck that actually spins the tires now lol! I'm running 265/70/17 Nitto Terra's and the 4.3 will cut them loose from a 20-25 downshift. Overall, I'm HIGHLY impressed with the work that Nelson Performance did for me. Only one complaint, now that my truck is a little faster, I've really got the performance bug, and I want a 6.0! haha Thanks so much Melissa and everyone else from Nelson
