my buddy has an 08 2500hd with allison tranny. The dealer he bought it from said a handheld programmer, cai, OR changing exhaust TIP would void his ENTIRE warranty. (the pilgram cannon is ugly, he wasn't even going to touch the muffer)

Not sure if the gassers are as strict. And i've never had a problem with shaft...just going off what i read on another forum. They said wd40 was a temp fix. I didnt realize it was the splines that made noise, i figured it was outer seal or something.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

I hate warranty work. This is because I make less for the same job if the vehicles is under regular or extended GM warranty.

That being said what he was told is a load of POOP.

Here's the deal, any dealer can refuse any service to any customer for any reason because it's a franchise. GM as a corporation (not the dealer) cannot refuse warranty repair unless GM corporate can prove the modification had a direct affect on the failure.

It would be pretty common to refuse warranty at the dealer level for a thrown rod on a $14K diesel engine if it's got propane, intake, exhaust, turbo, and tune. It would be stupid to refuse the warranty repair of a dome light because a truck has a lift kit.
