IMO You would probably want to rev the motor a little higher to take advantage of the peak power. The best thing to do is get it dynoed after you install the cam and have it tuned. Then you could look at your power curve, and set your shift points accordingly. Lets say you have peak power at 6krpms... a rule of thumb is to wait 200rpms over peak for the shift. But lets say you peak at 5800 and hold peak till 6200. Then you would want to shift at about 6300-6400. I shifted Mine at 6500. I hit peak at about 5900 and held through 6300. I would Have your tuner set the shifts at 6k rpms until you get the dyno.
The 220 would probably have a similar powerband.
Another point is lift. The 224 cam you listed is good for stock heads. But if you get portd heads that flow best at .600 lift, you would want a cam with about .605-.610 lift to take advantage of the airflow. But stock heads dont flow like that... well not stock 5.3 heads.

Odd cams? should I not install it? Is it too big? It has 0 over lap. I know is a high performace cam. Mine in now has about -26 overlap.

No no no... Its a decent cam. When I say odd cams I mean odd from the norm. Most people buy off the shelf cams, Or cams that everyone else runs. Im like that too, I Like to find my own method.
