I have a 4.8 ext. cab silverado with 3.42 gears and ran a 15.8 @ 86 MPH. I would like to put some 4.10, to make it seem faster, because most of my driving is in town. But would I run out of gear at the track? Thanks Brett

you will never run out of gear at the track with 4.10s. With the 4.8L you might pull all the way to the top of the RPM limit in 2nd about 3/4 track and then hit 3rd but you won't run out of 3rd gear RPM unless you are running 24" tall tires. 3rd gear with even 24" tall tires is good for up to 92 mph at 5300 rpm

I'd consider a stall converter before some gear.
