Let's face it, the red hair... makes 'em wet.
Actually they are rated at 350 HP from the crate. =)Originally posted by BlenderWizard@Jun 18 2005, 05:42 PM
The 5.3 is rated at 295 HP, and the LS1 is rated at 320 HP. These are stock numbers, and that's what i was going by.

Thats odd.. Most sites I've seen 350 stock, and I also saw it on TV today saying it was 350 stock. (xtreme 4x4 on Powerblock)

The 345/350 HP is correct because the stand alone engine comes with the vette cam and exhaust manifolds where as the F-body doesn't. The F-body HP ratings are 325 HP with the RAM AIR and 315 HP without.

Are you sure the LS2 is taller than a 346 LS1? I think it's the same casting. Does'nt an intake come on the LS2 from GMPartsDirect? I don't think it comes with a harness either. Straighten me out on this. GarOriginally posted by RedHeartbeat@Jun 18 2005, 03:33 PM
An LS2 is available from GMPartDirect.com, also. They have 400 hp straight out of the crate. They are equipped with the LS6 style heads. The LS2 is not much higher than the LS1 and it comes with a stand-alone type wiring harness that is something like a 4-wire hookup. Add an LS6 intake for about 15 hp more for $400 then add some long tube headers and you're ready to rock.![]()
Higher in cost, not dimension. GMPD doesn't supply a harness and PCM with the LS2 but you can use the LS1 harness and PCM if you have it and the LS1 throttle body. I'd go to SDPC2000.com and get their engines. GMPD screws you on S&H.
