    Question accidental button push

so i was completely re-wiring my audio system and i was running my RCA cables from the head unit around the back of my gauge cluster. i had the top of my steering column removed and accidentally hit this little button that's under there. after i hit it i heard a few clicks from what sounded like behind the firewall. what in the world did i push. i cant find anything on it in the haynes manual???

You pulled the steering column apart or on the outside of the steering column?

sounds like the emergency flashers. if you had the cover of all you would see is a small button that the large button in the cover hits when you press it.

look at your gauges where the odometer is...

if it's counting down, you better get the heck out of dodge!!
    when it hits "0"...

it was a secret anti-terrorism device installed in '02 model trucks - designed by GM in response to 9/11. the project ended up getting scrapped & recalled, but a few lurkers are still out there...

let's hope you have a lot of miles!!
