need help! what motor is this?

all, i bought this engine a several weeks back from a guy who had already disposed of most of the truck. My issue is i dont know what year motor this is? supposedly this is a 2003 motor, can anybody tell what years this engine came in ? What is unique to this thing is the square fuel rails can anyone identify what year and what type of truck/van/? this engine came out of?
    Thanks.

well ,my 03 doesnt have those sqare rails,or my o7 motor, but the funny thing is i have a wrecked z71 sub,and it does have those rails.the sub is a 6.0.Im not sure the rails help identify it tho.If you look on the block itll tell you if its a 6.0 and the year.

Looks like a car intake with returnless flex fuel truck rails.

I forgot to mention its a LS1 intake i swaped out the original truck intake had the Vortec cover on top. The block did not have much on the front only a standard powerstering pump and bracket for the alternator which sits high on the driver side. The Block has 5.3 4.8 stamped on it. I have not removed the heads so i cannot get to the casting numbers. what year is your Z71 Sub? also is it a flex fuel vehicle?

Look at the front of the outboard side of the passenger head for the three (or four) digit number that tells the casting. Flex fuel is capable of using up to 85% ethanol.
