IMO I would try it and see how it feels. I had a bigger/choppy cam in my 4.8 ecsb and it ran great. sounded nice. bolt ons stock heads, and stock stall, Was good enough to trap 97mph in the 1/4 with 4850 weight. But you will need a decent stall. If your ever going to tow, dont go any higher than a 3200. You could find a tight 3500 and be ok. But The bad thing with these 4.8's is they are better suited to either boost, or rev really high. So I say if your going to stay NA, get that cam and some ported heads that have a smaller cc, and put down 350-375whp at 6500rpms. With a decent stall you should see mid 13's with that cam and some headers. Keep the gears, youll need them. Also smaller tires are your friend.
