yesterday made a post about trying to beat my bros lightning and i was told i will prob need about 14,000 worth of mods to do it. wouldnt it just be easier to by an LS7 for 13,000 and have a base start of 500 hp?

then the LS7 will chew everything else up, the 14000 I think covered absolutely everything your truck would need to rape lightning reliably for years

14,000 seems a bit much to me. If you stay n/a it will be a lot less than fi.
Slowest in Oklahoma...
ya, the cost of the parts is just the start..... its all the supporting parts that will cost in the long run....lol....

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
Well not really. I didn't include any money for an engine at all.
7k for a nice complete twin turbo setup. With wideband afr, fuel pressure, and boost gauge. "just my cost guess" 5 to 6 k for FLT level 5 4l80 with trq converter. 1k for necessary stuff you don't realize you need. 1k or so for a rearend. IT cost a lot to go fast and it is addictive. You always need a little more.
You could sub the twin kit for a used single and save a bunch. Use the savings to buy a forged short block. That would still get you there.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.
good point, makes sense. i would love to have an ls7 in my truck tho haha or an ls9 when they come out
it seems like everyones a fan of turbos on this site. does anybody run superchargers here?
If you couldn't beat a lightning for WAY less than 14k I'd give up

you could just do a baller front mount and nothing else and have a great chance on owning him hard core
2006 silverado SS....Clifford Jr...turbo coming soon
1970 Chevelle ly6 swap....d1 coming soon
ya, superchargers are cool. My wife has one on her tahoe. runs great.
you could beat a L for 500.... for a while.... strap a 200 shot on that beast and go for it.... till pop...i dont mean motor... it will be something, tranny, rear end... maybe motor, maybe 2 at once... lol.. like it was said, plan for the unexpected..
and a ls7 wont just drop right in, there will be a lot of stuff need to be done to get it in the truck and working right.
