i broke the little black box on the side of the tranny i have a 4l60e idk what it is but it hooks up to my gears if anyone knows the name please help...
i didnt do it on purpose but the clip was melted on so i kinda had no choice i am doing a engine swap
That is the MLPS or manual lever position sensor, I have also heard it called a PNP park neutral position switch and a neutral safety switch.

I sent one to mean05 for shipping only. Took a month for UPS to deliver it 89 miles. I refunded him (even if he doesn't know). Maybe he has it still and will ship? It's called a PRNDL switch or more precisely a gear position switch.
yeah i think i paid like 40 to 60 from dealership, theyre also easy to break if you dont know how to put them on lol!! yeah i broke it!! but learned quick after buying a new one

the wise thing to do on those is to just remove it from the transmission, don't bother unplugging it. Unbolt the shifter arm and slide if off after removing the two bolts that hold it onto the transmission.

Yep. If you unplug it you have to heat the plug up with a lighter and melt the adhesive. Easier just to take the two hex (or is it torx?) head bolts out.Originally Posted by RedHeartbeat
